Windyhill, in the village of Altandhu is 25 miles from Ullapool. The last 15 miles from the Drumrunie Junction on the A835 is a single track road that runs past Stac Pollaidh, Lochs Lurgainn, Badagyle and Oscaig. Ordnance Survey map ref NB 982 129 |
Assuming you are arriving from the South, find your way to Ullapool. Then head North on the A835 and after about 10 miles turn left onto a single track road signposted Achitibuie 15. Ignore the right turn to Inverkirkaig & Lochinver that comes up in about 8 miles. 11.5 miles from the A835 turn right at the T-junction (signpost Achnahaird - Altandhu - Reiff). After a further 3 miles, bear left at the sign to Reiff (do not go to Reiff). You are almost there...About 1/10th mile further on turn left up a private drive ("Windyhill" nameplate on fence facing you). Pass the first house on the right. Two cottages will be above you - Windyhill is the one on the right. Note that it is not visible from the main road. |
